Kamala Surayya

Kamala Surayya/Kamala Das/Kamala Madhavikutty was at March 31, 1934 Punnayurkulam, Thrissur. She was a major Indian English poet and litterateur. She is well known for her short stories and autobiography. Her oeuvre in English, written under the name Kamala Das.
    She spent her childhood between Calcutta, where her father was employed as a senior officer in the Walford Transport Company that sold Bentley and Rolls Royce automobiles, and the Nalappatt ancestral home in Punnayurkulam.Like her mother, Balamani Amma, Kamala Das also excelled in writing. Her love of poetry began at an early age through the influence of her great uncle, Nalappatt Narayana Menon, a prominent writer.
    At the age of 15, she got married to bank officer Madhava Das, who encouraged her writing interests, and she started writing and publishing both in English and in Malayalam.At the age of 42, she published a daring autobiography, My Story; it was originally written in Malayalam "Ente Katha" and later she translated it into English.

C H Mohammed Koya

Mohammed Koya was born at Atholi, Calicut July 15, 1927. He was an Indian politician and the tenth Chief Minister of Kerala. He served from October 12, 1979 to December 1, 1979. His term of just 54 days is the shortest term ever by a Chief Minister to this date.
    Mohammed Koya was elected into the Kerala Legislative Assembly from the Tanur constituency in 1960. On June 9, 1961 he became the Speaker of the Kerala Legislative Assembly after the sudden demise of K.M.Seethi Sahib
    He was the Education Minister in the cabinet headed by Shri E.M.S. Namboodiripad. He continued to retain his Education portfolio in succeeding ministries headed by C. Achutha Menon, K. Karunakaran, A.K. Antony till the Ninth ministry headed by P.K. Vasudevan Nair. As Education minister he was instrumental in formulating many plans that has helped Kerala reach the forefront in the education sector in India.
    On October 12, 1979 C.H.Mohammed Koya became the Chief Minister of Kerala and his term continued to December 1, 1979. Koya died on September 28 at the Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad in 1983.

Lydia Davis

        Lydia Davis was born in Northampton, Massachusetts. She is a contemporary American writer noted for her short stories. Davis is also a novelist, essayist, and translator from French and other languages. Her stories are acclaimed for their brevity and humour. Many are only one or two sentences. Some of her stories are considered poetry or somewhere between
philosophy, poetry and short story.
       Davis wass the winner of the 2013 Man Booker International Prize, for her "achievement in fiction on the world stage"

Tulsi Badrinath


      Tulsi Badrinath was born in Madras, in 1967, to Seeta and Chaturvedi Badrinath. She wrote her first poem when she was seven and began learning classical dance when she was eight.  Between 1984-88, her poems and articles appeared in the Indian Express. She had her formal solo debut in 1985 and began to perform across India. As part of the Bharata Kalanjali troupe, she travelled to six republics of the USSR in 1987 for the Festival of India.

        After acquiring a BA in English Literature from Stella Maris College, Madras, Tulsi graduated with an MBA from Ohio University, USA. Returning to India, she worked for four dreary years at Standard Chartered Bank before quitting her job to pursue her twin passions — writing and dance.

Aravind Adiga

Aravind Adiga

Aravind Adiga is an Indian writer and journalist. He was born in  Chennai on 23 October 1974 to Dr. K. Madhava Adiga and Usha Adiga, both of whom hailed from Mangalore. He grew up in Mangalore and studied at Canara High School, then at St. Aloysius High School, where he completed his SSLC in 1990. He secured first rank in the state in SSLC. He studied English literature at Columbia College, Columbia University, in New York, where he studied with Simon Schama and graduated as salutatorian in 1997.
    Adiga began his journalistic career as a financial journalist, interning at the Financial Times. Currently he lives in Mumbai.His debut novel, The White Tiger, won the 2008 Man Booker Prize.

Arundhati Roy

Suzanna Arundhati Roy  is an Indian author and political activist. She was born in Shillong, Meghalaya, India (24 November 1961). She spent her childhood in Aymanam in Kerala, and went to school at Corpus Christi, Kottayam, followed by the Lawrence School, Lovedale, in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu. She then studied architecture at the School of Planning and Architecture, Delhi. She played a village girl in his award-winning movie Massey Sahib.
    Her first novel The God of Small Things (1996). It received the  Man Booker Prize in 1997.

Ela Bhatt was born in Ahmedabad in India (born 7 September 1933). She is the founder of the Self-Employed Women's Association of India (SEWA). Bhatt attended the Sarvajanik Girls High School in Surat from 1940 to 1948. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from the M.T.B. College in Surat in 1952. Kunhunni Mash

Kunjunni Mash, was a noted Indian Malayalam poet.
He was considered as the children's poet. He was born in the village of Valapad in Thrissur May 10, 1927.Kunjunni started his career as a teacher at the Chelari school. Selection Procedure

Application Procedure
  • The fee is Rs. 70 for SC/ST/PWD, For Others, Rs.120 for Females and Rs.220 for Males.

  • A screen will now show your Registration Number that is to be used for login.
  • Login and Generate Challan for payment is SBI Branches.
  • Pay the fee and check back your application status. It may take a few days to updated.
  • After the payment details are shown in check application status, click Complete Application for finishing registration process.
  • The payment of fees can be done at any State Bank of India Branch using the generated payment challan from second day of application and for next three working days only.
